A Visit from Nonna

Hubby's sister, Aunt Nonna, came to visit us Connor and Tyler for Connor's birthday.  Last year, Connor has asked her if she could come to his birthday party, but she was unable to.  She told him that she would love to come for it this year, however.  And when Nonna makes a promise to her boys, she follows though.  They're really lucky to have such a loving aunt.

We had a great time visiting with her.  Nonna came to swimming lessons with us, and even got in the pool with Tyler and me.  Later that day was Connor's party, and she was an absolute lifesaver for me.  It was so nice to have the extra set of hands to help out.  I hadn't really wanted to have the party at our house, it's very small, and the clean up both before and after is arduous for such a short period of time.  But all my other options fell though, and Connor said he'd prefer to have it at home anyway, so we did that.

We lucked out again, and had beautiful weather for the party (not always a given in Colorado in November), so the kids were able to run around in the backyard,

We left the leaves unraked intentionally, so that the kids could run and jump in them.

The next day the kids and I took Nonna to the Zoo.  We had a great time.  The weather was chilly, so the crowds were minimal, and the animals were...feisty.  Let's just say there was quite a lot of love in the air that day!

Little stinker-bug here went into this cave and refused to come out.  I had to pull the old, "OK, bye!" maneuver to get him to come out on his own.  Stinker.
